Could anyone tell me what this play is about? I've only seen some pictures and read the genre (comedy)

lol well the genre isn't a comedy for a start. It has funny moments but is not a comedy. It's a drama, set in the trenches of the first war. Raleigh (C) is a new eager recruit, Stanhope (Geoff, far right) is an alcoholic and Raleigh's hero. Osborne (David) is referred to as "uncle" and loved by everyone. Trotter (Paul) always eats and is a lovable character, kinda takes Raleigh under his wing. And Mason (Phil) is basically comedy relief in the play. other main character is Hibbert who hates the war and tries to fake illness to go home.
It's an amazing play, and that cast was fabulous.

It's not a comedy? It didn't look like one to be honest and yes the uniform clarified the war bit I don;t know why but some site actually said that the it's a comedy and so my thinking was hm...could it be another "Black Adder" on stage?

---that explains why some sites indicated that it was a comedy! *lol* Thanks for clarifying that.
